Udumbar (Umber) is astringent in taste, heavy to digest, and cooling in nature.

Umber bark, fruit, milk, etc. are used in medicine.

Umber is used to reduce kapha and pitta. It also decreases the heat.

Lepa of umbara sprouts is applied in skin disorders.

Umber milk is used in the diseases in children during tooth eruption like diarrhea etc.

 In women, excessive menstrual bleeding and white discharge, the decoction of umber bark is used.

Ripen fruit of umber can cause worms.
