In our country, tea is the nectar of the land for the common people. In Pune the city of scholars the tea is called Amrut tulyaIs tea harmful or useful to the bodyDepends on How much tea you drink, how often you drink, how it is prepared, what is added as a spice in it.etc.From Ayurvedic point of view, tea has astringent and bitter taste and it bears light and drying qualities. Its virya is ushna. Tea reduces kaphadosh and increases vatadosh and is a stimulant, diuretic, relaxing. It can be used in fever, headache, cold.Tea can be made in two ways1) Decoction method-Mix water, sugar, milk and tea powder together and boil for 2 to 5 minutesThis is the commonest method used in our country.2) infusion method-Boil water and sugar together, add tea powder and cover for 5 to 7 minutes, then add hot milk as required.The infusion method is less harmful , which is often used in western countries.If tea is drunk too hot, it can irritate the mouth, throat, stomach, blood vessels and intestinal mucosa.In winter as well as in the rainy season, tea causes less discomfort, but in summer and autumn, as well as people with a pitta prakriti tea can cause more discomfort.Do not take more than 2 cups of tea in a day.
